Whoah! January sure came like a flash. It’s February and almost Valentine’s day and I’m thinking to myself as always, how did that go by so fast. Like how my eldest daughter is now a teen, really?! Is there a way to be ever so present and truly know every tick of the clock.
We truly cannot stop time but we could surely celebrate special times. Valentine’s day as cheesy as it may have become to some, is still a great day to assure friends and family how much we care and love them. All the single ladies, all the single ladies…you have family and a ton of friends to celebrate with. Stop sulking over you know who… Adam Levine is so married and that’s that. Okay, don’t throw a pie on my face, how about if you spend time making hand made gifts instead. Now, I know moms don’t want to add another thing on their plate but our kids and hubby will appreciate even the simplest, most thoughtful way we can celebrate this day.
If you are a hard core diyer and you prefer giving hand made gifts, try your hand at these two diys using the same set of paper napkins.
Let’s do decoupage.
Decoupage On A Wooden Tray Diy
You don’t even need to buy a new tray, you can upcycle and repurpose any wooden tray you may have. You can find the step by step tutorial here. An update, after this post a reader informed me that there is a Mod Podge that is dishwasher safe which means it waterproofs your work, that will be the best option for the tray.
Upcycling A Used Glass Bottle To A Decorative Bottle
You can pretty much use any glass bottle for this decoupage diy. But if you have used glass bottles, you can clean it thoroughly and use it for this craft using the same set of paper napkins. You can find the step by step tutorial here.
You can totally rock this!
